Teaching is very important to me. Not because I have a particularly altruistic disposition, and also not (only) because it is opportune to talk about how much it means to you to interact with students. Teaching challenges what you take for granted sociologically, it calls for explication and systematization where one would perhaps have liked to do without both to avoid exertion, and it opens up new perspectives on society. In the course of my work as a research assistant, later as a lecturer, but especially due to my experience as a supervisor of several theses, I have come to appreciate the added value teaching provides very much. Regardless, I am certain that the greatest influence one can have as a scientist usually results from the interaction with students – be it in terms of content or in terms of teaching behaviour and leadership behaviour. In order to turn this influence into a good influence, I engage in contiuous professional training. In 2014, for example, I was awarded the “Bavarian University Teaching Certificate”, and since then I have been continuing my training in areas such as digital learning, leadership and diversity management. In the following you will find an overview of my teaching activities to date.
